Full leather binding
The whole book is covered with a single piece of leather

Only the spine is covered.

The book-block is laced directly onto the leather.  Boards are not used in this traditional type of binding.

The simplest form of binding where a protective sheet of  leather is wrapped the book-block

These are books designed to be   suspended from the belt. Particularly popular during the 15th and 16th centuries. Worn by both men and women.
